This project best exemplifies how the different divisions at BS&R Group complement each other and provide complete woodworking services.
Orange Valley is a historically listed National Trust House of the Cox family built circa 1802. When the current owner, a sixth generation Mr. Cox, decided to carry out some restoration of the 200 year old house he contacted BS&R Group in the knowledge that they would have the skills to handle a delicate project — his front door.
As the original front door was unable to be restored, a door had to be fabricated — one that was strictly in keeping with the style, age and tradition of the house.
Using the old-world carpentry techniques employed in the Bermuda Antique Restorations division of BS&R, a brand new, yet historically accurate, door was custom built using an aged cedar with glass and brass fittings. The frame, original to the house, was stripped and refinished so that new seamlessly blends into old.
